It always seems that the most confusing conversions of military time are those after 12PM. That is because everything between 12AM and 12PM are essentially identical in the way they are presented except for the removal of the colon and the AM/PM.
That being said, if it is 1700 military time or “seventeen hundred hours”, simply subtract 1200, add a colon between the hours and minutes, and attach a PM to the end.
What is 1700 Military Time in AM/PM?
A great tip to commit to memory: Anytime you wish to convert military time to standard time that is after 12PM(noon or 1200), simply subtract 1200, add a colon in between the hours and minutes, and add a PM after it.

Step 2. 500 + : = 5:00
Step 3. 5:00 + PM = 5:00PM
